Global Missions

As you know, Ryan/Megan Kelley are full-time missionaries to Uganda. Their family will be at Sharon on Sunday, July 2. We would like to have a time of fellowship with them at 10 AM in the Student Cafe so that the Chapel people can also join in this special time of catching up with their family.

We need people to signup/bring breakfast/brunch items:

Thanks for your help in loving on this family! We also have some school items available to purchase for a donation in Room B-118 downstairs by the gym after church today. All donations will be given to the Kelley family for some needs they have as full-time missionaries.

Jesus charged us as His disciples to "Go" into all the world and preach the Gospel. Therefore, Global Missions is one of our top priorities here at Sharon. Browse below to become more familiar with our Short Term opportunities, Full Time Missionaries, and other ways you can get involved in helping us in our global missions efforts.

Palmer Family - uganda

Lulwanda Children’s Home, Uganda, Africa

John, Bobbi, Jackson, and Lilly Palmer

There are well over 2 million orphans in the African country of Uganda, largely as a result of HIV AIDS. Most of these orphans live with a grandparent or other relative, but some of them have no one able to care for them. Lulwanda Children’s Home was established specifically to provide loving care to some of these orphaned and abandoned children, and currently is home to 110 children between the ages of 4 and 16. Located near the city of Mbale in Eastern Uganda, Lulwanda consists of 3 distinct but integrated facilities: the Children’s Home itself, Lulwanda Primary School, and the Hesed Health Center medical clinic.

Short Term Trips

Throughout the year, we have several teams that travel to places like Nicaragua, Guatemala, Romania, and more for short term mission trips. Those who participate in these trips carry the Gospel with them along with food and supplies to help those in need.

For more information about how you can partner with one of our short term teams, contact Steve Sanders at

Teen missions

Each year several teenagers from our student ministry embark on missionary journeys around the US and the Globe. In addition to the mission work they participate in, they also learn teamwork, planning, and the organization skills necessary to be successful in missionary work.
